I’ve used the Sekont L-358 meter for a number of years now. I’ve been very pleased with it’s performance.  The next generation of Sekonic meters look impressive! Being able to adjust your lights from the meter will be a huge benefit. I think it’s time to upgrade. Read More

This little guy could be the Gerber baby. So easy to work with…nothing but smiles.  I could only wish all the little ones we photograph were so easy.  He gave us a lot of smiles and this was at the very end of the session. Have a look to see how this image was shot.

A little about me:

When I was 5 maybe 6 years old my Uncle Frank gave me a book about insects and the images were fascinating to me. I never knew there were so many different shapes, sizes, colors, types, etc.  This is  the earliest memory I can trace back too when it comes to my love for the creepy crawlies.  I do remember catching dragonflies when we lived in Florida and letting them loose in our house.  My poor mother! Lets fast forward a number of years and I just purchased my first macro lens.  The Canon 100mm macro… what a great lens! I had the Canon 20d at the time and we were living in Okinawa. Lots of bugs!  I didn’t have a clue about macro photography.  Read More

Sometimes using hard light works really well in certain shots. I think you need the right client for this particular shot and Crystal fit the bill very well. Have a look at the lighting diagram to see how the shot was setup. Read More

Recently I had the opportunity to photograph Denise.  This was her first time being photographed and I think she did a great job.  Very easy to work with and I think we captured some great shots.  Have a look at the gallery and the lighting diagram.  More diagrams on how some of the images were setup will be added soon.  Be sure to check the lighting diagrams link.
