Lightroom 3 is a powerful application. If you haven’t used the app, give it a try. I was resistant for a couple of years as I was so comfortable using Photoshop to handle all my image processing and raw conversions. A couple of years ago I attended a local PPA meeting and this is where I had my eyes opened to what it costs to run a business. On any level! A single photographer shooting out of your home to the large boutique studio, you need to know on paper, what it takes to keep the doors open. I won’t sit here and tell you I have all the answers. I do not! I struggle with business and marketing. I’m learning myself as I believe we all are.
A great day of shooting at the Desert Botanical Gardens. Lots of plants and cactus blooming right now. With the lack of rain and the freezes we have had, this might be the best place at the moment to photograph desert poppies. The butterfly pavilion is in full force. A few years ago a buddy and I headed to Yellowstone National Park … and what a trip it was! We stayed a week and were lucky enough to make it around the park during the week. The animals were in their mating season and to see and hear the elk call out…just amazing!
